Check the footer of this website – contact details lie at the bottom of each page.

What is the best way to get to Nymboida Camping and Canoeing Centre?

By car if you’re intending to stay overnight (recommended). Find us on the map here.

Are tickets available to purchase online?

A limited selection of tickets are available for purchase online. Weekend festival passes and accommodation bookings must be made the NC&C office on 02 6649 4155, with payments by EFTPOS or cash in person. Office hours 8:30 am – 5 pm.

Is there parking for day ticket-holders?

Parking for day visitors is available at the Canoe Centre, with overflow parking available at the power station, accessed 100m west of the campground turn off. Please look for signage and follow our staff and volunteer’s guidance on where to park.

I have special access needs - how do I find out more?

Our site is a bush campground which can present challenges to those with mobility and other sensory restrictions. We’re keen to help by providing accurate advice, so please contact us to discuss any special needs.

Do I have to wear a wristband?

You will be issued with a coloured wristband upon entering the festival. The various colours denote days and/or length of stay. You must keep your wristband on and display it to festival staff, security and volunteers upon request.

Will there be pass-outs?

Your wristband will act as your pass-out, if you need to leave the site.

What should I bring?

All festival goers should wear hat and a smile.

We recommend bringing sunscreen, warm clothing, all weather footwear, gumboots etc, mozzie repellent, your reusable coffee cup, refillable water bottle and CASH – there is no ATM on site and poor mobile reception means few stalls will be able to accept card payments.

If you’re staying overnight, bring your own tent or caravan or camper trailer and book your accommodation ASAP by calling 02 6649 4155.

When can I set up camp?

NC&C is open all year-round, so you can arrive and leave any time prior to or after the festival. Simply book in and pay for your site or cabin fees in advance. We will provide cooked food and entertainment on the Thursday night prior to the official festival kick-off from 4pm Friday.

Is there an ATM on site?

No ATM available. Eftpos is available at the front office for festival entry and shop purchases. We do not issue cash via EFTPOS.

Will there be First Aid on site?

First Aid services will be provided. The nearest medical facilities are in Grafton, 35 km away.

What’s the mobile phone reception like on site?

Mobile range is limited and intermittent at NC&C. There is good reception in Nymboida village 3km away.

Is this a BYO event?

Yes. Please drink responsibly.

Can I smoke at the festival?

Yes, in outdoor areas. Please be considerate of other people and also bin your butts. Smoking is not allowed in undercover areas.

Should I bring a chair?

Bringing your own camp chair is highly recommended!

Can I bring my pet(s)?

Yes, we are pet friendly, keep your pets on a lead and please ‘scoop the poop’ (we have free bags available). Pets are to be kept at least 10m away from food vendors and other food preparation areas, eg. camp oven cooking arena.

Are there hot showers and toilets?

Yes, we have well-maintained amenities with hot showers. Additional amenities are brought in for the festival.

What weather should I expect during the festival?

It is winter, so expect cold nights; days are usually mild and sunny.

Is drinking water available on site?

All tap water at NC&C is potable and there are multiple outlets.

Where can I dump my rubbish?

Sorry NO DUMP SITE. The closest one is Grafton, 35km away. Grey water must be collected in a receptacle and removed from the campground - campers may NOT discharge grey water onto the ground.

We operate a Leave No Trace policy at the Camp Oven Festival. Please take all your rubbish away with you or make use of the bins provided. We’re aiming for zero waste to landfill. Remember to place all cardboard, tin and glass in the yellow bins for recycling, while food waste and compostable packaging from food vendors may be placed in the green bins.

Currently in the Clarence Valley, we are unable to recycle single use coffee cups – the lids may be placed in the yellow bin, while the cup has to go in the red bin. Better still, avoid waste entirely by bringing your own reusable coffee cup and refillable water bottle. Take pride in your surroundings and keep this precinct litter free.

How do I make and pay for accommodation bookings?

You will need to book and pay for camping or cabin accommodation in advance. The minimum stay during the festival (9-12 June) is 3 nights. Day visitors don’t have to book and can pay entry at the gate.

Are fires allowed?

Fires are allowed, depending on conditions and must be kept within existing fire rings or a portable fire pit. No new fires straight on the ground. You’re welcome to bring your own firewood or purchase wood at the festival.

Can I cook food at my campsite?

Gas burners are allowed for cooking and BBQs. If you are bringing a gas cylinder for a BBQ it must be secured safely to your vehicle. Cooking is also permitted on designated fire rings or your own portable fire pits.

Can I buy food at the festival?

A variety of food vendors will be available all weekend and you can purchase camp oven cooked food from demonstrators via the Big Shed kitchen.

Where can I buy supplies?

There are no shopping facilities in Nymboida. Nymboida Camping and Canoeing has basic supplies. Coutts Crossing has a pub and general store 18km away. The nearest shopping centres are Grafton, 35km away.

Can I bring my generator?

No generators are allowed unless you have a medical condition requiring power.

I wish to trade as a market stall or food vendor…
